Free notepad for writing code
Notepad Plus - HTML JavaScript is a free utilities and tools app by Open Utilities. Here, you can write code in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript anytime, anywhere — perfect for students and professionals. You can use it to practice coding in another language. You can even change the font size and spacing of your code.
However, Notepad Plus - HTML JavaScript’s Go to Line does not work, which is a letdown since it’s a handy feature. Thankfully, it doesn’t contain advertisements or offer subscription plans. If you want to try other apps, HTML Editor and Html Viewer And Editor Pro are good choices, too.
Write code anywhere
Wherever you are in the world, any on-the-go programmer can count on Notepad Plus - HTML JavaScript. You can write CSS, HTML, and JavaScript code from your device — ensuring convenience. With it, you’ll have no excuse to procrastinate on your coding projects. In addition, you can use the app to keep your programming skills sharp at any time, especially if you’re a student.
To create a new file, tap the three-bar menu on the upper left corner of the screen and select a save location. From there, name your file and tap SAVE. You can share your file with your colleagues so they can check it for any issues. The Go to Line button — which can be accessed via the three-dot menu at the screen’s upper right corner — does not work.
Moreover, you can disable Line Numbers and Syntax highlight by tapping the three-bar menu followed by Preferences. You can also adjust the font size and text spacing according to your preference. Aside from the non-working Go to Line, the app has another drawback: small font size. This is seen on the sub-menus under the three-bar menu. Hence, users with poor vision can find it difficult to read the text.
Handy tool for programmers
Whether you’re a student or a professional, Notepad Plus - HTML JavaScript is an app that you can rely on for your coding needs. You can write code or practice your coding skills at your own convenience. Sharing is enabled, too—allowing your colleagues to check your code. However, the app has its drawbacks such as the small font size of the sub-menus and the non-working Go to Line feature.
